1/24 -1/30/2010

During the week of January 24 – January 30, we here at Camp Symonette were blessed with a group of 12 from Lancaster Ohio.  Manex led half of the group at Ms. Pinder’s in Governor’s Harbor, continuing to get this home closer to completion.   KP served with the other half of the group at Ms. Ella’s on Cupid Cay.  They scraped and removed old paint, windows and a door and by weeks end had a fresh new coat of yellow on the house with seafoam green trim, 2 new windows and 1 new door.  After working hard from Monday-Thursday, a much need excursion day was had on Friday.  We went to Glass Window bridge, Preacher’s Cave and beach, Laughing Lizard for lunch, Hidden Beach for some rock climbing and finally Rainbow Bay for sunset.  A wonderful end to a very productive week of serving here in Eleuthera.

“We did serve others; met and emotionally touched locals.  Felt very appreciated.  It was a very rewarding experience” -Vicki
